Wattletree Farm was purchased by Agricultural Capital (AC) in mid-2019. It is located in the well-known citrus region of Leeton in the Riverina. It is comprised of 38 acres planted entirely to SumoCitrus®.
The property sits along the edge of town with a close supply of irrigation water from the Murrumbidgee irrigation channels.
Wattletree Farm utilises existing Mowbray Farm management and staff to oversee the property as well as part time local workers. During harvest time an additional 30 workers are hired to keep up with fruit picking.
An estimated 8,510 SumoCitrus® trees have been planted at Wattletree Farm as the soil conditions are ideal for citrus growing.
SumoCitrus® is a relatively new variety of fruit in Australia and has a promising outlook.
The future plans for Wattletree Farm include improving the existing operations and tree health to produce optimal yields.
